The Neill-Cochran House Museum invites you to a celebration of the nation’s newest federal holiday, Juneteenth. Join us for dominoes and lawn games, and learn painting with Signs and Symbols artist, Rejina Thomas. Then pick up a Black West Austin Driving Tour (which starts at the NCHM), and explore the historic sites of the freedom colonies of Wheatville and Clarksville.

This event will take place in and around the Museum. All ages are welcome to join the Painting Class with Rejina Thomas. All activities, including the Driving Tour, are free with Museum admission.

Lemon Bars by Jackie will be onsite selling tasty sweets. Free parking is available behind the Museum.

While you’re here, visit Thomas’ exhibition, Signs and Symbols: The Trees are Talking, on display inside the Museum. Rejina Thomas’ Signs and Symbols: The Trees are Talking is an exhibition of works of glass and oil on canvas that explores Thomas' understanding of the way signs and symbols constantly surround us in both the natural and built environments. Learn more about the show here.

The exhibition will be on display at the Neill-Cochran House Museum from January 11 through August 13, 2023. The Museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
