Color Your World in Crayon
September 13, 2020 | 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST
Enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the heavily shaded grounds of the Neill-Cochran House Museum and share in some visual inspiration to feed your soul.
The Neill-Cochran House Museum hosts Art on the Lawn on Sunday, September 13th from 11 a.m. until 3 pm. Eight Austin artists representing contemporary art to traditional representations to augmented reality sculptures (you have to see these to believe them!) on the grounds of the historic site.
Access to the grounds and the art is free. Registration is requested and walk-ins will be accepted. Reduced admission to the museum will be available and includes Sunday Funday hands-on, family-focused programming targeting the history of crayons and offering a free, Neill-Cochran House Museum coloring book for the kids. The art exhibition If These Walls Could Talk will be on display and the only existing slave quarters in Austin, located on our historic grounds, will also be available to tour.
Art on the Lawn artwork will be for sale with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Neill-Cochran House Museum. The Museum Gift Shop offers the recently produced art catalogue from the If These Walls Could Talk exhibition, along with other keep-sake items from the show. The safe density of guests circulating on the grounds and accessing the museum will be managed by staff. All are required to wear masks and practice safe social distancing. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact the museum office at 512.478.2335 or info@nchmuseum.org.
**We are partnering with our friends from the League of Women Voters, who will be on-site to register folks to vote. Take a moment to assure you are on the rolls for this November since the best way to protect your future is to choose it.
