Sunday Funday: Quilting with Math Happens

Sunday Funday
Family-Friendly Craft Activity at the Museum

Quilting with Math Happens

MARCH 9, 2025 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM CST

The Neill-Cochran House Museum welcomes children of all ages to join this creative craft activity. Join the fun as Math Happens shows us how geometric patterns are used in the art of quilting!

We will have three quilt/pattern activities based on the Truchet tile and a solid square tile. Participants can create designs with a large board and tiles, make patterns with Geometiles, and color and take home their own mini pattern board.

NOTE: We will not be working with fabric for this activity. The quilting is purely conceptual. Participants will leave with a take-home Truchet tile that they designed!

Reservations are not required. Participation in Sunday Funday is free for kids with an adult’s Museum admission, and NCHM members are always free. Drop in anytime between 11:00AM and 2:00PM to enjoy the activity. The Neill-Cochran House Museum is open for touring throughout the activity.
