You think, cowboys fight Indians, and then the cavalry gallops in to save the day? It almost never happened that way. James L. Haley is the author of The Buffalo War, long regarded as the definitive history of the last war of the Comanche, Kiowa, and Cheyenne natives to keep control of the South Plains. Using rare photos and images, he will explain the cultural factors, political pressures, and tragic, unexpected cross currents that made military conflict inevitable--and determined its outcome.
To ensure the safety of our guests, speakers, and staff at the in person event, we request that all participate in safe social distancing and wear a mask at all times while inside the museum. Sanitation stations will be available to all guests.
Haley will be signing his books before and after the event. Be sure to pre-order your book in our online store to pick it up at the event, or to have a copy signed and shipped to you after the event.
