Harp and Oboe Duets of Classical Music on the Theme of Love

This Valentine’s Day bring your sweetheart to the Neill-Cochran House Museum for a beautiful performance of romantic Classical music from the harp and oboe duo, Duo da Capo. This event is the perfect romantic date night for Valentine’s Day. The event will take place in our historic Double Pink Parlors, creating a romantic and intimate environment perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Duo da Capo is a pair of local classically-trained performers with national experience and distinction. Let their lovely music warm your heart at this intimate performance inside the Museum.

Free parking is available behind the Museum.


Program

- Reverie, Bruyeres, and Arabesque No 2 by Claude Debussy
- Ghazal (Song of Love), movement two from Homage to Hafiz by Simon Sargon
- My Lagan Love; My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose; An Cailin Fionn; The Skye Boat Song (traditional Celtic tunes)
- Song to the Moon from Rusalka by Dvorak
- Two movements from History of Tango: Cafe 1930 and Nightclub 1960 by Astor Piazzolla

About Duo Da Capo:

Sarah Oliver

Harpist Sarah Oliver is an active freelance musician within the Austin area. A versatile player, Sarah is confident when performing among orchestras, choirs, and chamber ensembles. Recent collaborations include the Austin Symphony, Austin Opera, and Chorus Austin. A passionate educator, Sarah is a faculty member at Southwestern University, as well as owner of Studio Da Capo, which focuses on injury prevention and rehabilitation for musicians.


Jaleen Seshadri

Jaleen Seshadri has been a performer and educator for over 20 years. A native of central New York state, she received a Bachelor's of Music in Oboe performance from Berklee College of Music, and a Master's of Music in Oboe performance from New England Conservatory of Music. Her performance credits include: principal oboe with the US Army Forces Command Band, Augusta Symphony, Silicon Valley Symphony and she performs regularly with Austin Symphony and Opera, Temple Symphony Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony, Victoria Symphony and San Antonio Opera. As an educator, Ms. Seshadri was formerly on faculty at Santa Clara University and currently maintains an active oboe studio in Round Rock. She has 2 musical children, Gabriel (13) and Anna (11) and enjoys exploring the beautiful state and national parks, climbing, trail running and cooking (when she's not making reeds!).
