Hope for Spring: Taste of Texas

An exhibition of local artists on the theme of Texas food and drink

On display at the Neill-Cochran House museum
March 12, 2025 - April 19, 2025

Spring has returned to the Neill-Cochran House Museum, and with it the fifth annual juried exhibition, Hope for Spring. This year, the exhibition celebrates the delicious food and drink found throughout Texas. Titled Hope for Spring: A Taste of Texas, local artists are invited to represent the rich and abundant foods Texans love to enjoy.

Spring is here, when we all start to think about those amazing treats that come from Texas, including Fredericksburg peaches, Poteet strawberries, Gulf Coast shrimp, Pecos melons, and those iconic and delicious Texas pecans. Throughout the state, food brings Texans together at the State Fair, Fiesta, Wurstfest, the Poteet Strawberry Festival, BBQs, picnics, and family Sunday dinners. Let’s face it, no one does food like Texas. This year we are celebrating the incredible food of our state with Hope for Spring: Taste of Texas.

This is a juried exhibition with cash prizes. Three Winners and an Honorable Mention were announced at the Opening Reception on March 15. Visit the Museum to see who won and cast your vote for Fan Favorite! Fan Favorite will be announced at the end of the show once all the votes have been tallied.

Most of the artwork in Hope for Spring: Taste of Texas is available for sale. See a full price list here. Contact us at info@nchmuseum.org to arrange a purchase. Artwork purchases can be picked up from the Museum after April 19th.
