Dresser, c. 1885

Renaissance Revival walnut dresser with a tall-pedimented superstructure, an applied cartouche, bosses supporting a mirror, and a flat base. The dresser features a square candle shelf on each side above the white marble drop-well top, a short frieze drawer on either side of the center section above, and two long drawers all centered with applied carved medallions and fitted with carved wood pulls. The dresser is en suite with the bed and wash stand. The Cochran Collection, Gift of Matthew Parten, 2007.
