Collective Voices
On display February 2-March 28, 2021
We have a new temporary art installation on our front lawn just in time for Valentine’s Day! The piece is titled ‘Collective Voices’ and is a social practice art project conceived by Art on the Lawn alumna Caroline Walker. Participants were asked to submit a message about something they are grateful for that has helped them cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. These submissions were recreated in wood and vinyl to compose the heart, and it has an augmented reality component in which the messages of gratitude appear to float out into the universe.
The project was created in conjunction with Austin Museum and Cultural Programs and the Dougherty Art Center. Come see it through the end of March!
